West Riding of Yorkshire. These maps by engraver John Cary contain hamlets, topographic features, chapels and important houses not ordinarily found on maps of West Yorkshire. Spelling is of course archaic but outright errors have also been noted (i.e., in the area north of Huddersfield, May Hall instead of Bay Hall and Firby Hall instead of Fixby). The maps were scanned from original engravings in my possession. File sizes are large and may take considerable time to load; you may want to copy them to your own computer if you wish to use them for reference.
